Logan Nicoll urged staff to map new water lines in GIS and adopt GPS tagging and training; Penny Wu said the department has maps and SHAPE files but they are incomplete and were often developed from memory. "As we dig, we find that the maps are not reliable and many developed by memory," Wu said, and she added that full GIS mapping and staff training will not happen in FY27.
BJ Donohue proposed an overall project spreadsheet to list upcoming projects and recent completions, a suggestion Logan called similar to a capital plan. The commission asked staff to research cost estimates for full mapping and to work toward a consolidated project list.
