The council approved a resolution adding the city manager to the city’s bank signature cards after a motion by Mayor Pro Tem Debra Levels-McDavid and a second by Councilmember Joe Taylor; the motion carried 5–0 with two members absent. Councilmember Michael Milnes moved to appoint William Roe to the vacant seat on the City of Marlin Charter Commission; Councilmember Morris Watson seconded and the appointment was approved.
Council also conducted the first reading of an ordinance to amend the Marlin Police Department Policy and Procedure Manual by adopting a Medical and Psychological Examination of a Licensee policy and scheduled a Budget Workshop for Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. for further budget deliberations.
