Commissioners heard an update on a Thompson Avenue water-main replacement project during the Aug. 4 meeting.
Penny Wu said the contractor has mobilized and "we will be putting in a new 8' main from the end of Thompson Avenue." The work described includes a new 8-inch line on the east side of the street to the hydrant, four new curb stops and a new hydrant; once complete, the new piping will be pressure-tested and chlorinated before being placed into service. Ron Bixby said he visited the site and thanked contractor M&M for their availability.
Commissioners and staff discussed related plumbing details, including an existing 6-inch line between Thompson and Orion and newly placed valves to control flow near the hydrant and by Garvey's house. No vote or additional funding action was recorded at the meeting.
