Resident says she was falsely arrested; council advises complaint process

Council members and staff urged use of formal complaint channels and said the law department and police had been in contact. Councilman Andre Wallace said he had spoken with Brown and her attorney and relayed options, adding, "you did it to me and I did it to me" in describing a discussion about legal choices; Councilwoman Cathlin Gleason told Brown she could "submit a form with the Police Department and it will be investigated." Councilman Jaevon Boxhill apologized for Brown’s experience and said he would inquire with the department. Council President Derrick Thompson deferred further follow-up to the Public Safety and Codes chair.
