Council appoints Richard Ellis to Canadian River Municipal Water Authority board

The Levelland City Council voted Aug. 4 to appoint Richard Ellis as the city's representative to the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority board of directors.
Staff noted the city typically appoints two community leaders to CRMWA and said Mr. Ellis has been a CRMWA board member since 2006 and has served as the board president since 2019. Mr. Ellis's term expired at the end of July and he told the council he was willing to continue serving. The motion to appoint Richard Ellis was made by Mayor Pro Tem Michael Stueart, seconded by Jaime McCabe, and carried unanimously.
The appointment preserves one of the city's two staggered seats on the CRMWA board; the council did not take other related action at the meeting.
