Renee Sauls, leading the strategic planning effort, told the board the district aims to craft a five-year strategic plan for 2027'31 that will set district-level goals and guide school-level renewal plans. "Our outcome desired outcome is to have a strategic district strategic plan to cover those 5 years and then subsequent renewal plans for all of our schools moving forward," she said, describing four focal areas: world-class learning, operational excellence, a results-driven culture and meaningful partnerships.
Sauls outlined a timeline: stakeholder engagement and data collection beginning in August, drafting in October and November, board approval in December and school plan submissions to the state targeted for April 1. She emphasized broad stakeholder involvement, including principals, teachers, students and external community partners, and said the process will use Cognia's framework to align goals, strategies and monitoring measures.
