Robertson County attorney announces planned transition after decades of service

Clyde, Robertson County's longtime county attorney, told the commission on May 18 that he plans to step into a transition after decades in the office and will remain available to handle matters already underway.
"I've told, mayor Vogel that it was time to have a transition, and I've assured him and and the county officials that I'll stay on to handle and deal with things that are underway," Clyde said. He said his son, Jared, could serve as interim county attorney effective July 1, and that the new county commission can decide on a permanent appointment after September 1.
Clyde said the decision was personal and framed it as a smooth handoff: "It has been a privilege and I've enjoyed it all these years," he told the commission. Chair and commissioners thanked Clyde for his service and confirmed he will remain through current matters to ensure continuity.
