The Marion ISD Board on Feb. 25 approved several capital purchases tied to athletics and site work.
Trustee Ryan Schwab moved to approve a contract with Storage Equipment Company for new athletic lockers priced at $120,000; Trustee Jamie Mote seconded and the motion carried 6-0. The Board also approved a $42,000 contract with Bronco Contractors for Primary School concrete work after a motion by Trustee Caleb Rackley and a second from Jamie Mote; that motion passed 6-0.
On a related item, the Board approved the rank order for vendors to supply a digital scoreboard for the competition gym and authorized Superintendent Dr. Don Beck to select the vendor following interviews. Trustees said the approach would expedite procurement while preserving final selection authority for the superintendent.
Board minutes record the contracts and procurement directions; specific vendor selection for the scoreboard will be announced after the superintendent's decision.
