Marion ISD board approves CSP delivery and hires civil engineer for maintenance project

Trustee Jill LeSage moved to approve the Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) delivery method for the Karrer and Primary School parking lot construction, and Trustee Ryan Schwab seconded; the motion passed 6-0. Trustee Ryan Schwab then moved to accept Moy Tarin Ramirez Engineer's proposal for civil work at the planned maintenance and transportation location; Trustee Jill LeSage seconded and the Board voted 6-0 to award the civil contract.
Superintendent Dr. Don Beck presented the Bond 2023 update placing the projects in the district's implementation timeline and confirmed staff will coordinate design and bidding. The Board also approved CSP as the delivery method for the maintenance and technology civil project by the same 6-0 vote, allowing procurement and preconstruction activities to proceed.
Board members said the actions were intended to keep Bond 2023 projects on schedule while working through schematic design and site logistics. Next steps include finalizing scopes for bidding and coordinating with the city on any property-related questions.
