The Marion City Council drew lots on Dec. 16 to create a place system and stagger term expirations. Mayor Daniel Loyola and Councilmembers Karen Mills and Phil Karrer selected terms to expire in odd-numbered years, while Councilmembers Jerry Penshorn, Kerry Gutierrez and Jeremiah Burns will have terms expiring in even-numbered years.
Councilmember Kerry Gutierrez moved to order the regular election for Places 3, 4 and Mayor on May 3, 2025; Councilmember Jeremiah Burns seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
