Council committees approve several infrastructure agreements and emergency clauses — water main, resurfacing, road reconstruction and sewer engineering

Council committees approved a package of infrastructure actions including a Gulf Road water‑main project to supply Sheffield Village, a change order on the Gulf Road resurfacing project, authorization to advertise for the Murray Ridge Road reconstruction contract, and an engineering contract for a Bridal Avenue sanitary sewer extension.

Engineer Schneider said the Gulf Road water‑main installation (12‑inch main) is required to supply Sheffield Village; the approximate project cost was stated at $1,000,000 and staff requested emergency passage to begin bidding after plans and EPA approval. Schneider also presented change order No. 1 for the Gulf Road resurfacing (Vista Court to Hilliard Road), noting OPWC funding caps and that the additional work remains within the overall project budget. The committee approved motions on both items.

Schneider asked for authorization to advertise and award the Murray Ridge Road reconstruction project (Albrecht Road to Lowell Street) and noted the city has secured grant funds but is still awaiting an ODOT environmental clearance; committee members approved readiness to move forward when approvals are in place. Separately, Schneider described a $163,500 engineering contract to extend sanitary sewer on Bridal Avenue; the committee authorized the mayor to enter into the agreement and requested emergency clauses where deadlines applied.
