Brown County resident Ian Schuetz asked the Brown County Board of Commissioners to consider distributing the real estate property valuation change breakdown to all taxing entities in the county to assist them when preparing budget proposals. He noted in the record that USD 415 currently receives the breakdown from the Appraiser’s Office for a $50 request fee. The request was made during the public-comment portion of the Aug. 3 meeting; the board did not take action on the request.
The matter was logged for the record but no motion was made to change the county’s practice or fee schedule. The commission did not set a follow-up or directive to staff at the meeting. That leaves the current process—taxing entities requesting the data directly from the Appraiser’s Office, sometimes for a fee—unchanged for now.
