Students honored: Germantown Education Commission names November award winners

At the Germantown Board meeting the Education Commission and EuroCarFest organizers were recognized for supporting local students and nonprofits.
A mayoral recognition noted EuroCarFestraised funds that benefited the Madonna Learning Center; the mayor invited EuroCarFest organizers Kevin Childers and Paul Burdett to the podium and asked Madonna representatives Joe and Donna to join for a photo.
Alderman Sherry Hicks introduced the education awards. She said the Germantown Education Commission presented the November 2025 Exceptional Student Award to Germantown High student Felipe Sevilla, praising his leadership, volunteer work and work-based internships. The commission also presented the November 2025 Youth Excellence Award to Houston High senior Lindsay Baker, noting she earned a perfect 36 on the ACT, was a National Merit semifinalist, and has held leadership roles including president of the National Beta Club. "The Germantown Education Commission is pleased to present the November 2025 Exceptional Student Award to Germantown High student Felipe Sevilla," the commission said during the presentation.
Board members and school administrators attended to congratulate the students and the meeting took a brief recess for photographs outside the chambers.
