The Board of Education Finance/Buildings & Grounds Committee received a progress update on bond-funded construction and finishing work. Staff reported that roofing at the high school has been completed and an inspection will be scheduled. At GIES, the gym floor is being poured this week and ceiling grids and lights are installed in classrooms as final finishes are applied.
Furniture delivery for renovated spaces is scheduled to begin on Aug. 18, and most teachers are expected to be able to set up classrooms on Aug. 25, with K–5 rooms prioritized and specials second. Custodial staff will complete final cleaning at GIES and DeMaria is scheduled to perform a final cleaning that staff said should occur before Aug. 18. A design meeting for the high school auditorium is scheduled this week; plans for donor recognition and a daytime ribbon cutting were also discussed. The committee set its next meeting for Sept. 15, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. to revisit open items.
