Marion ISD recognizes bi‑district volleyball standouts; superintendent reports rising enrollment

President Ryan Zwicke called the Marion ISD Board of Trustees meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. and the board began with superintendent reports and student recognitions. Superintendent Dr. Beck reported that active enrolled students are 1,741 and said attendance has improved since the beginning of the fall term.
Dr. Beck and the board recognized the high school volleyball program for bi‑district honors. District awards listed in the minutes include District MVP Madi Love, Libero of the Year Lailah Hernandez and Setter of the Year Ellie Parker. Several players were named first- and second-team all-district and students were noted for academic all-district honors. The minutes also listed band area qualifiers (Drum Majors Zya Davis, Caleb Soefje and Lyndon Smith‑Velasquez) and 'Bulldogs of the Month' across campuses.
The acknowledgments and the attendance report set the tone for the rest of the agenda; the superintendent also gave updates on special population enrollment (up by 20 students) and the Bond 2023 status.
