"If I'm understanding the number correctly, we're essentially saying we have 7.35 FTE that were committed to that program," Alex said. He added a financial back‑of‑the‑envelope estimate: "So and using that, you know, we could correct me if I'm wrong in saying that roughly $750,000 is what we are spending with the staffing and the other fees for Avid." Johns agreed that staff can return with a precise FTE and cost accounting.
The board discussed how AVID's elective enrollment and whole‑school implementations should be interpreted when comparing outcomes to nonparticipants and asked staff to provide more detailed data on success rates in AP, ACT and dual‑enrollment for AVID participants.
