Lorain County Stormwater approves $54,000 share for Mason Main restoration in LaGrange Township

The Lorain County Stormwater Management District voted Feb. 3 to approve a memorandum of understanding and payment of $54,000 toward restoration of the Mason Main in LaGrange Township. The board adopted RESOLUTION NO. SWD-26-4 to fund its portion, with LaGrange Township contributing $5,000 for a total project cost of $59,000.
Don Romancak told the board that "this project was awarded $12,000 through the community grants, but when bids came in they were $59,000 through Dovin Land." He said district carryover funds and the township match will cover the higher bid and that the project covers roughly 2,500 linear feet on Whitehead Road upstream to 7–8 houses, running through farmland and also providing improved drainage for Wester Road and residents of LaGrange and Penfield Townships. The resolution passed unanimously.
