Board approves committee schedule changes, hears committee and superintendent reports, then enters closed session

Trustee Michener moved to change the COTW schedule: the Joint DEI/Curriculum COTW was moved to Feb. 26 at 3:00 p.m. and the Governance and Policy COTW to April 9 at 4:00 p.m.; the motion passed 7-0. President Ruskin reported on an Ad-Hoc City of Novi/NCSD Site Engineering Committee meeting that addressed drainage, a retention pond and road easements and noted a future joint presentation on renderings.
Superintendent Mainka provided calendar items including the State of the District on Feb. 25, the Robotics ribbon-cutting on Feb. 26 and the NEF Green Gala on March 14. Administrative staff updated the board about a custodial RFP opening and Educators of the Year recognitions. Later in the meeting the board voted by roll call to move into Closed Session for negotiations under the Open Meetings Act; the roll-call vote was recorded as seven 'Yes' votes. The meeting adjourned at 8:49 p.m.
