The Novi Community School District Board of Education on Jan. 22 approved the purchase of new kitchen equipment for Novi High School totaling $175,512.95, to be paid from the district's food service fund.
Assistant Superintendent Scicluna and Director of Food Service Kimberly Sinclair presented the proposal and described an immediate need for updated equipment. Secretary Robert Paul Cook moved that the board "approve the purchase of kitchen equipment for $175,512.95, spent out of the food service fund." The motion carried unanimously, 7-0 (President Ruskin; Vice-President Beaudoin; Secretary Cook; Treasurer Kliebert; Trustee Mena; Trustee Michener; Trustee Roney).
Board members discussed the timing of maintenance work and staff readiness to install new equipment; Assistant Superintendent Scicluna later thanked the board for moving the item to action and for approving the purchase.
