The Village of Lansing Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals voted 6-0 on March 25, 2026 to recommend that the Village Board approve the Lewisville Hotel Subdivision, a plat reconfiguring approximately 5.3 acres on the north side of 172nd Street west of Torrence Avenue.
Developer representative Michael Maseda told the board that "the 100 room Tru by Hilton Hotel" is under construction on the site and that the subdivision would separate the hotel parcel from the adjacent former bank parcel and create a separate lot for the shared access drive. Village Planner Maura Rigoni described the property by PINs (29-25-201-052, 29-25-201-053, 29-25-201-054) and said the proposed plat would create Lot 1 to encompass the Tru Hotel development, Lot 2 for the access drive serving Lots 1 and 3, and Lot 3 to encompass the former bank building. She said access easements for Lot 2 would be handled through a separate easement agreement.
Commissioner Robinette moved that the board recommend approval to the Village Board "subject to any technical revisions before recordation," and Commissioner Benne seconded. The roll-call vote was recorded as YEAS: Benne, Cole, Lyzenga, Robinette, Smith, Bazylewski; NAYS: 0. The board did not list conditions beyond technical revisions.
The subdivision follows a December 2022 Village Board approval of a special use for a Planned Unit Development for the Tru Hotel development (covering the parcels now being reconfigured). The board's recommendation sends the plat to the Village Board for final action; the transcript does not specify a Village Board hearing date.
