Trent Woods posts speed limit signs, advances pedestrian plan after resident complaints about Steeplechase Road

Police Lieutenant David Jackson, standing in for Chief David Oglesby, told the Board that residents and social media raised concerns about speeding on Steeplechase Road; the department is conducting regular patrols and stationed a radar sign to collect speed data for later review. Maintenance and Zoning Officer Rich Schreiber reported that new speed limit signs are being posted on Norman Road, Holly Ridge Road, West Fairway Drive, and Greenwood Road.
Schreiber said the next phase of the town's pedestrian plan, running along Wedgewood and Canterbury Road, is expected to begin in roughly two weeks with Charles Hughes Construction Company. He also reported completion of painting sewer markers and that he will send letters to property owners who are violating yard-maintenance ordinances. Schreiber asked the Board to review an updated road study from Avolis Engineering, PA and asked that the item be added to the August agenda for final approval for road repairs. Resident Mark Keane raised a drainage concern on Blackledge Circle and noted that an adjacent road and easements remain owned by developer Wheeler.
