The Levelland City Council approved a Special Event Application for the Wallace Theater’s grand opening, titled “A Red Carpet Affair,” scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025. The council approved the requested partial closure of Avenue H between Studebakers and the Wallace Theater and acknowledged pedestrian presence in the public street; the permit also authorized the sale and service of alcohol under the city’s event rules (Section 4.1304(h)).
Council Member Jaime McCabe moved the motion, which was seconded by Bill Powell; the motion carried unanimously. The City’s Special Events Committee had previously reviewed the application and recommended approval, and the council’s action completed the permitting step required for events on municipally owned property that involve alcohol sales.
