Assistant Superintendent Dr. Craig Curtis updated the Board on curriculum work across the district, noting the implementation of readopted math materials (Ready Math and i‑Ready), ongoing Library Media scope and sequence implementation, specials and exploratory curriculum investigations, and a new Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum committee.
Dr. Curtis wrote that, "Our teachers are off to a great start using the newly readopted curriculum materials (Ready Math and i‑Ready)." Committees are meeting throughout the year to inventory manipulatives, standardize specialty curricula and assess SEL vendor options. The district also convened a Full‑Day Kindergarten planning team that has met three times, visited an established neighboring FDK program, and engaged current and recent kindergarten parents as part of planning for the 2027–28 launch. Assessment notes in the packet reported strong Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) outcomes with several schools earning commendable designations and ongoing winter i‑Ready diagnostics and SAEBR screenings to guide supports.
