County receives clean audit; commissioners approve 2024 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

Timothy Ahopelto, the engagement partner for Henkel and Company, presented the 2024 financial-statement audit and reported that the auditors found no material misstatements or disagreements with management. "We're happy to report that there were unmodified the opinions were unmodified or clean on both the financial statements and the single audit," Ahopelto said.
The auditors described a risk‑based approach and told commissioners they encountered no significant difficulties in performing the audit. Commissioners thanked Alina Bell and the finance team; the BOCC approved the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) by motion. Staff also noted they submitted the CAFR to the Government Finance Officers Association for award consideration.
