Pickleball advisory group raises funds and expands courts at Lions Park

Staff said the park was restriped from overlapping tennis courts into six pickleball courts and that the advisory group purchased rigid, wheeled nets to support play and portability.
"They're about $2,500 each," the staff member (S3) said when describing the rigid wheeled nets the group sought to purchase. Staff also said the group used donations and a local business contribution to buy several nets, and that a sport-court sponsorship banner program has been launched to allow local businesses to underwrite equipment and be publicly thanked.
Commissioners praised the fundraising effort and discussed logistics for storing portable equipment in a lockbox and coordinating pickup for events. Staff said additional fundraising remains in progress to reach a target inventory that matches the six-court layout.
