Skatepark rebuilds advance; volunteers, grants and work parties planned

"The Suquamish Foundation is who we're hopefully going to put a grant proposal to for $5,000 for those skate parks phase 3," Commissioner (S2) said, describing staff and volunteer roles for the application. S2 added that Rachel will submit the grant because the foundation requires the city or an EIN-holder to be the formal applicant, and that S2 will contribute narrative content.
The commissioner also described a nearby community meeting for Rob Park scheduled the same day as a city skatepark meeting (April 4) to align stakeholders and encourage unified planning. Staff and volunteers discussed procurement of alternative ramp materials and a tentative construction timeline: contractors who helped with the mini ramp previously were expected to complete phase 2 in roughly a week during a coordinated work party.
