Commissioners OK moving private burn-permit fee increase to public hearing

Buckley said staff estimates about 2.5 hours of travel and inspection time per permit and recommended increasing the private permit fee to $30 to better reflect costs.
Commissioners discussed a balance between covering staff costs and not discouraging permit compliance. The board directed staff to include the proposed $10 increase in the upcoming public fee hearing so residents can comment before a final decision is made.
