Commissioners authorize airport electrical load agreement and OK use of county property for hangar fundraiser

Grand County commissioners authorized a load-sheet signature for a new transformer to support additional hangars at the Kremmling airport and approved allowing alcohol sales at an Oct. 4 "Hangar Bash" with required permits and insurance.
Sean Mahorney (speaker 7) of Greene County Airports asked commissioners to sign an electrical load sheet so a transformer can be brought "just across the road" to support additional hangars. Mahorney said an initial engineering fee would be "$600" and that the county has $200,000 in site-improvement budget that could be used for the work or it could be added to next year's budget if necessary.
Commissioners agreed that a 200-amp service would be installed in each new building and moved to authorize the chair to sign the load agreement with Mountain Parks Electric. Separately, Mahorney requested permission to use county facilities for an Oct. 4 fundraising Hangar Bash that would include alcohol sales; county staff and the attorney clarified that the BOCC authorizes sale on county property while the liquor license is a separate state process. Commissioners moved to approve the sale of liquor on county property at Hangar 27 on Oct. 4, contingent on proper licenses and insurance.
