County extends wildfire-watershed consultant contract; staffer announces move to consultant role

A water specialist presented Amendment 1 to the services contract with Matrix Design Group, the county's consultant for the Wildfire Watersheds program (funded by a Colorado Water Conservation Board grant). Staff said Matrix experienced delays related to grant-writing and modeling reviews that justify extending the contract to Dec. 31, 2025; the board approved the amendment and authorized the chair to sign.
During the same presentation the staffer (Kaylee) announced she had accepted another job and that her last day with the county would be Sept. 12; she said she will be working for Ellery Water as a consultant. "So my last day will be September 12 here at the county," she said, and commissioners thanked her and wished her well.
