Grand County opts into Purdue opioid settlement subdivision

Abby Baker, representing Grand County Public Health, asked commissioners to approve inclusion of the county in the Purdue bankruptcy settlement subdivision so opioid-abatement funds for the region are routed through the Northwest Region Opioid Abatement Council. Baker said taking a subdivision approach yields a more meaningful funding pool than accepting a small individual county allocation.
Commissioners moved to approve the opt-in and authorized the county manager to sign the DocuSign documents. Baker told the board additional, larger settlements are expected in October and will be brought back for similar consideration.
