Road and Bridge staff told the Board that a surplus 1995 International water truck with about 150,000 miles is available after replacement and that the town of Hot Sulphur expressed interest. The department estimated fair market value at about $8,500; staff requested direction whether to put the vehicle in auction or sell directly to the town. Commissioners instructed staff to move ahead with a direct sale provided the town is informed the truck is being sold "as is."
"It's a 1995 international. It's got a 150,000 miles on it," Road & Bridge staff said, noting prior conversations with the town and that the town likely would not put heavy miles on the truck. Commissioners emphasized clear disclosure of the truck's condition before a direct sale.
