Commissioners deny affordable-housing transfer-fee exemption for Cody Creek unit

The Grand County Housing Authority presented an application for exemption from the county’s affordable housing transfer fee for Lot 24 Unit 33 at Cody Creek in Winter Park. Sheena Darlene, representing the Housing Authority, said the unit was developed in 2022 by Pole Creek at the Divide LLC and transferred to the Hadleys in 2024; because the first owner did not apply for an exemption, housing staff and legal concluded the unit no longer qualified for the exemption.
A commissioner moved to deny the exemption "as presented by director Darlene," and the board voted in favor. "After review of this application and, consulting with the legal department, it is our recommendation and determination that this application is no longer exempt from the affordable housing fee," Darlene told the board.
