The Board of Trustees of Gull Lake Community Schools voted unanimously May 8, 2026, in Richland to ratify a two-year teacher contract covering the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 school years. Superintendent Christopher Rundle presented the agreement, which includes a 6% salary increase for Year 1 to be paid retroactively and a 4% increase for Year 2, with step advancements for eligible employees.
Deputy Superintendent Lisa Anderson outlined a sick-day buyback pilot that will begin in 2026–2027. Under the Letter of Agreement, participating staff must maintain at least fifty (50) sick days in their personal sick bank; the district will pay $75 per sick day. The district noted that 46 staff members are currently eligible for the buyback. The board also reviewed the 2026–27 district and teacher calendars before voting. The motion to approve the teacher contract was moved by Vice President Desiree LaDuke and supported by Secretary Mini Paulose-Murphy; the motion passed unanimously.
