The Floyd County Council on June 9 approved a $4,500 additional appropriation requested by Auditor Diana Topping to fund a contractual intern. Auditor Topping said the intern will work 30–35 hours per week through the summer to organize records in the county records cage ahead of shipment to SBS for scanning, indexing and digitization.
The motion (moved by Dale Bagshaw, seconded by Sam Sarkisian) passed unanimously. The Auditor said settlement was distributed June 5, the earliest the county had completed that process, and presented the intern request as an operational need to prepare documents for digitization.
