City renews employee medical insurance with Select Health at 2.02% increase

City Manager Quinn Bennion recommended renewing Vernal City's employee medical insurance with Select Health and told the Council that the insurer proposed a 2.02 percent renewal.
"Select Health proposed a 2.02 percent renewal, which he stated is very low for a health insurance renewal," Bennion said, adding that the City has been pleased with Select Health since switching from United Health. Councilmember Robin O’Driscoll moved to renew the medical insurance with Select Health; Councilmember Randel Mills seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Bennion said other benefit renewals, including dental and vision, will be discussed during upcoming work sessions. The renewal was approved without amendment.
