Water Superintendent Ivan Merrell presented AquaHawk, a customer portal that gives residents and businesses daily insight into water use, budget-setting tools, and alerts.
"Customers would be able to use information from their utility bill to access the website, set budgets by dollar amount or gallons, and receive alerts when usage reaches those limits," Merrell said. He estimated an approximate rollout of forty-five days for account setup and initial use, and ongoing cost of about $2.90 per meter per year. Councilmember Ed Long moved to approve the contract; Councilmember Robin O’Driscoll seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Merrell said the portal could also support district metering and future dashboard analysis by area, giving staff and customers better tools to monitor conservation and spot leaks.
