The Claymont City Board of Education met in special session on March 16, 2026 at Claymont Middle School with Mr. Peters presiding. The board approved the special meeting agenda after a motion by Ms. Campbell and a second from Mrs. Wolf; on roll call all four members present voted yes and the motion carried.
Treasurer Kim Beckley presented on school funding and Superintendent Brian Rentsch presented options for building consolidation, after which Middle School Principal Brian Watkins facilitated audience-submitted questions that the board and administration answered. Following the Q&A the board opened the floor to public comment and several members of the public spoke.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn moved by Ms. Campbell and seconded by Mrs. Grandison; the session adjourned at 7:31 p.m. A video recording of the meeting has been posted to the district website for public viewing.
