Victim advocacy program reports clean audit, staffing shift to one employee

Kim Rooks updated the Council on the Victim Advocacy Grant, describing the program’s second-year revision and reporting that the February desk audit produced no findings.
"Ms. Rooks stated that the program receives a desk review and audit each fall, and that the February audit results included no findings," Rooks said while describing recent staffing and workflow adjustments. She added that staffing has shifted from two and one-half employees to one employee and that City Attorney Michael Harrington has assisted with workflow changes. Rooks also noted that a high school intern completed a forty-hour placement with the program.
Councilmembers thanked Rooks for her service and asked for continued updates twice yearly, as requested by grant representatives. No formal action was taken; the update was informational.
