On Jan. 12 the Claymont board approved a package of superintendent recommendations covering personnel actions, program agreements and vendor contracts.
Notable approvals included: Aubrey Somers certified as an early 2026 graduate; unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman effective Feb. 24–Apr. 21, 2026; hiring of Samuel Schafer as a full-time preferred substitute custodian at $15/hour; certified substitute Brandy Bishop at $90/day (retroactive); payment of $498 for a partial mentor year 1 supplement for Ian Meiser; and a roster of professional-development and calendar committee members to be paid $27/hour.
The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Kent State University for College Credit Plus for 2026–27 and authorized annual membership in the Ohio School Boards Association for $8,398. The board also approved contracts with OME-RESA for internet services using E-Rate, with Congruex for fiber removal and set-up to the central office, and with Laketec for UPS unit services using E-Rate. Classified substitute appointments (including Theodore "Buddy" White) were approved pending credentials.
All superintendent items A–O were approved on a single motion (moved by Mrs. Grandison, seconded by Ms. Campbell) and carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. The minutes list the items individually but do not record extended discussion for most items.
