The Log Cabin Planning and Zoning Commission approved a building permit application Nov. 14 for a new 2,571 square‑foot site‑built home submitted by Jerry Scott and Rick Estrada of L & E Custom Homes. Scott told commissioners he expects construction to take about four to five months, weather permitting, and that he has been coordinating with the homeowners' association to minimize disruption.
Scott said he is “getting estimates to have a standing seam roof, not listed on the plans, but it will depend on the budget,” and that a retaining‑wall permit application has been filed with the Tarrant Regional Water District and is pending approval. He confirmed that if changes are made to the roof or the bonus room plans he will submit formal change orders to the City. Commissioner Joe Clark moved to approve the application; Commissioner Dave Peterson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
