Todd County Health & Human Services brought several personnel requests and reclassifications to the board and received approval for multiple actions: hiring a resource navigator/interpreter, hiring two lead eligibility workers, approving an accounting supervisor classification and eliminating one care coordinator and the administrative services manager position.
Commissioners pressed HHS staff for a written training plan for the lead eligibility roles and discussed budget offsets from eliminated positions. Director Jackie Ock and staff said DHS training capacity and online classroom limitations restrict rapid staff ramp-up; HHS promised a spring and fall update and to provide a written training plan. "We would like to see what that training plan looks like in writing," the Chair said; the board approved the hires and eliminations and requested follow-up.
