Todd County Health & Human Services presented an interagency fraud-prevention investigation and prosecution agreement with the Todd County Sheriff’s Office and County Attorney’s Office and the board approved the cooperative arrangement.
HHS staff explained the county’s process for referrals, in-person interviews, waiver options and administrative hearings. Investigator Travis (speaker 14) described savings and recoveries recorded during the reporting period — including totals listed in the packet of approximately $46,093 in combined savings and overpayments — and said some overpayments for federal medical programs must be pursued by prosecution through the county attorney’s office. "If we get a conviction on that, then we can show the savings of, like, that $15,939," the investigator said. Commissioners discussed revenue recapture and workforce constraints; the motion to approve the agreement carried on a voice vote.
