Councilmember Eckert said paragraph 1.5—language that would limit WSDOT liability for damage to equipment on state poles—gave him pause and asked whether the city’s attorney had reviewed it. "We did have it reviewed by Emily, the city's attorney. She had no issues with it," Chief Harding replied, and staff noted that the vendor Vera would contractually cover repair costs. After brief discussion a motion to authorize the agreement passed by recorded vote.
Councilmembers also asked about remaining installation steps; staff said power and equipment installation remain to be scheduled. The vote authorizes the city to proceed with the maintenance contract while staff finalizes installation logistics and coordination with WSDOT and the vendor.
