The motion "authorize[d] the Board Present to accept the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Bill Chapman effective August 31, 2026, in accordance with the terms as discussed in closed session, and further authorize the Board President to execute the necessary paperwork for same," was moved by Trustee Scott Frazier and seconded by Trustee Cara Fines; the board recorded four votes in favor and no votes against with three members absent and the motion carried.
The action followed an executive session that the agenda said would address superintendent duties, the superintendent contract and transition and include consultation with legal counsel. Board President Michelle Braselton was authorized to execute the resignation paperwork. The meeting minutes record Trustees Michelle Braselton, Cara Fines, Scott Frazier and Russell Manning as voting "Yes"; Trustees Blake Chapman, Jessica Gutierrez and Rob Leon were listed as absent. The board adjourned at 9:17 p.m.
