The London ISD Board of Trustees met June 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the LISD Administration Building. The board approved routine consent items including minutes and purchases over $50,000, approved a furniture purchase, and voted to hire a chief of police. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
Superintendent Dr. Chapman opened the business portion of the meeting and told trustees the district is preparing for the 2026–27 school year. Leslie Marin presented the monthly financial information, including the list of bills paid for the prior month and tax-collection items. No members of the public signed up for public participation.
The board passed the consent agenda on a motion by Cara Fines, seconded by Blake Chapman; the record shows the motion carried with all trustees voting yes. Later in the agenda, trustees approved a furniture purchase following a motion by Scott Frazier, seconded by Michelle Braselton; the motion carried with recorded unanimous support.
On a separate personnel motion, trustees approved the appointment of a chief of police. The motion to approve the hire was made by Jessica Gutierrez and seconded by Blake Chapman. The recorded vote shows Michelle Braselton voted No; the remaining trustees voting on the motion recorded Yes.
The agenda listed potential executive-session topics under Texas Government Code §§551.074 (personnel), 551.072 (real property) and 551.076 (security devices), but the record states there was no executive session business. The board scheduled a superintendent evaluation for Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 p.m.
