Practical shooting match draws 114 competitors and boosts Iron County tourism, organizers say

Owner Patrick Brower (speaker 16) said the event drew 114 competitors—the largest practical shooting event in the Utah Summer Games’ history for that sport—with roughly 63% traveling from outside Iron County and attendees from Nevada, Colorado and California. Brower estimated around 25 competitors stayed overnight and that the event supported local hotels, restaurants and retailers during the weekend. He said competitors and volunteers praised the range and proposed expanding the event to two days to increase hotel stays and local spending.
Brower also said the organizer formed a 501(c)(3) to pursue grants to improve the range and thanked the county for continued support.
