Mason ISD board approves updated Code of Conduct, clarifies DAEP wording on intimate images

The Mason ISD Board approved the district Code of Conduct as presented during its Sept. 22 meeting. Jim Bob Smith moved to approve the code; Eric Buell seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 7–0.
Trustees raised questions about wording under the DAEP section (bullet #3 on page 25). According to the transcript, board counsel explained: "It’s intended to permit disciplinary action for 'revenge porn', which is in the Penal Code but is not limited to minors. This is not the same offense as transmitting intimate images of a person under 18, which is a more serious offense." The board accepted that clarification and approved the Code of Conduct without recorded amendment.
