The Mason City Commission on Feb. 17 voted to table consideration of a contract permitting the interim city administrator to contract with City Hall Essentials for a Deputy City Secretary.
Judy Herrington signed up to speak during public comments and "gave the commission paper work on the proposed contract with City Hall Essentials for a Deputy City Secretary and ask that they table this item until it can be discussed further by the council." Following discussion, Commissioner David Hyden moved to table the item; Mayor Pro Tem William Beaty seconded the motion and it passed with no opposition.
Commissioners did not take final action and directed that the matter be brought back for further review at a future meeting. The transcript does not record any formal contract terms, fee amounts, or the specific research items commissioners expect staff to complete before reconsideration.
