Ephrata council approved Resolution R26-049 to accept a $1,000 donation to support National Night Out. City staff said the funds would be used for signage, advertising and food and beverage costs for the community event; staff also said the event may be delayed into September because of lingering smoke in the area.
The chief said the donor, identified in meeting remarks as Greenville Red (reported also as Grand Coast in the meeting), offered $1,000 to support the event and staff recommended accepting the contribution. "So today, we're bringing that before council," the chief stated when explaining the donation and its intended uses. Council moved and approved acceptance of Resolution R26-049.
Staff said organizers plan a community barbecue and will adapt the schedule and location as needed to respond to pool closures and weather/smoke conditions.
