The board unanimously approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the City of Lake Forest that consolidates multiple smaller arrangements into a single umbrella agreement covering shared facilities, forestry consultation, salt purchasing and reciprocal facility rentals.
"This is an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Lake Forest, and it has been in development for a bit, but I'm really proud of where we landed," Jen said in presenting the item. The board described the IGA as a compilation that should streamline operations and formalize partnerships with the city.
The board separately considered and approved the School Resource Officer agreement; the superintendent thanked city leadership and the board approved the SRO arrangement with the caveat that it remain subject to final attorney review before execution.
Why it matters: the IGA and SRO agreement codify operational cooperation between city and district, affecting campus security protocols and how districts and the city share services and facilities.
